The secret to an efficient and safe long wire antenna is a sturdy 9:1 Unun combined with a ground radial/counterpoise system. In this video, Victor Ivanoff describes the 9:1 Unun he used  with a "sloper antenna long wire dipole" during the 2016 ARRL Field Day.
