Here's a simple, easy to make HF antenna suitable for home station, portable, or emergency use.  According to Tinker John (W5CYF), all you need are some old headphone cases, a few lengths of wire, and a few pieces of equipment from your shack to build this inexpensive HF antenna.  Although this project was designed for the 20 meter Amateur Radio band (cut for 14.200 MHz), you could scale a similar antenna for any band between 160 and 10 meters.  This antenna should be part of your emergency "go-kit" when disaster strikes.
