Mobile HF antennas can be difficult to install, tune, and use because of several problems, including poor grounding, the use of fiberglass in vehicle bodies, rf "hash" from onboard electronics, and poor connections.

In this video from K1GMM, we see how some of these problems can be identified and "tamed".  An important element of K1GMM's mobile HF antenna is the hefty air coil which is tapped to obtain a decent match to his transceiver.

K1GMM offers several suggestions that can help make you next mobile HF antenna a bit easier to install and tune.
