What is a Quad Antenna?

If you're having trouble viewing this video, please insert this address into your browser search box: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reVBX8oCX1c. In this video, Stan Gibilisco (W1GV) explains the theory, building, and use of a simple quad antenna.  While most of the quads I've seen are used by radio amateurs on various VHF/UHF bands, suitable quads can be designed for use on amateur radio frequencies from 20 to 6 meters.  As the frequency gets lower, quads tend to become unwieldy and unstable because of their large size. This video will give you a basic understanding how quads are designed and used. For the latest Amateur Radio news and events, please check out the blog sidebars.  These news feeds are updated daily.
