Here are some observations and links from "North Carolina Prepper": "Playing with a magnetic loop antenna. you can make them really cheap with just wire. There are plenty of plans on the internet. I used these 2 websites http://www.nonstopsystems.com/radio/f... and this one http://www.66pacific.com/calculators/... If you live in deed-restricted housing (HOAs and CC&Rs), a simple magnetic loop HF antenna may get you back on the air without raising undue attention from your neighbors.  In this video, North Carolina Prepper shows us his "homebrew" HF magnetic loop antenna, which can be used indoors or outside on his patio with a few simple additions.  Just remember the old saying: "A compromised antenna is better than no antenna at all." Here's another magnetic HF loop antenna for those living in deed-restricted housing (HOAs/CC&Rs). Most of the materials used in these loops can be bought at the nearest building supply or home improvement outlet.  The toughest part of the project is the careful bending of the copper pipe used to make the loops. Generally, a nicely done video from the "North Carolina Prepper."  Please note the beautiful ICOM-IC-7000 used for the test. "North Carolina Prepper" has suggested two websites to help you design, build, and use this magnetic loop antenna: http://www.nonstopsystems.com/radio/frank_radio_antenna_magloop.htm http://www.66pacific.com/calculators/small_tx_loop_calc.aspx.
